The second tool I selected to use was from Mr. Wang's PPT about P3TT is Kahoot! Kahoot can be used to quickly quiz and even question the class to see where they are at. This tool can also be used as a quick check-in I have had teachers use it as study guides, quizzes, tests, and even after a reading passage. I think it has a wide variety of angles you can use it for which in turn makes it a very vital tool. I think that Kahoot also is very convenient to have for the simplicity of posting questions and having the four answer options in different colors. Kahoot is also very versatile in terms of being able to use it for a wide variety of tasks as I stated above. These can range from quick follow questions or out too-long tests. I think this is something I would use depending on my grade because students can see how they're doing after each question as well as ranking amongst peers. This does worry me because of the fact that I wouldn't want students getting embarrassed if they are struggling. I think this tool mainly goes with the learning category because of the way I would use it would be to show work and prove their knowledge of the material. Kahoot directly connects with both Substitution and Augmentation from SAMR by acting as a substitute for various knowledge checks. At the same time, I do think it is a modification because it is a new more interactive alternative to standard paper tests, quizzes, and assignments. Also, Kahoot connects with Webb's depth of knowledge by working on short-term strategic thinking in addition to the recall of information.

  1. Hi Beaudry,
This tool is such a fun way to get students engaged and entertained while still being able to learn. I have always seen this being used as a fun way for a teaching lesson as it is super fun. This can also get competitive when you are getting points and moving up on the score board so this can definitely get kids to want to participate and learn.
